Capita agrees deal for healthcare informatics group

The outsourcing group Capita has concluded a deal to acquire a major healthcare informatics specialist.
Through the £11.6 million (AUD$26.2 million) deal for UK-based CHKS, Capita hopes to add further reach to its existing healthcare services, such as the NHS Choices programme.
When finalising a deal of this size, financial and legal directors can effectively perform due diligence through a secure virtual data room, which allows for the swift purchase of assets in an online environment.
Chief executive of the Capita Group, Paul Pindar, commented: "As one of the largest providers of health informatics and benchmarking in the UK, CHKS will also provide a strong platform to gain further business across the market."
He added that the deal would add "important new expertise" to the group's portfolio of health services.
Based in London, Capita provides is a FTSE 100-listed firm which provides customer, financial, software and human resources services to both public and private sector organisations.
