QV Foods purchases MBM Produce assets

Vegetable grower and packer QV Foods has agreed a deal to acquire assets of fellow UK business MBM Produce.

Neither company chose to disclose the financial details of the transaction for MBM's retail and food service unit, but QV emphasised that it was keen to avoid any disruption to the running of its newly-acquired business.

QV did not reveal if any more deals were in the pipeline, but any potential agreements could benefit from an Ansarada secure virtual data room, which allow for inspection of sensitive accounts and documents in a policed environment. [del one]

Director of the company, Simon Martin, said: "The support of the enlarged team and additional facilities will enable QV to continue to provide an excellent service to existing customers of both businesses.

"We look forward to working with our extended supply base to support our service delivery and create new opportunities together."

Also in the UK, the IT reseller Kelway has completed a deal to acquire Panacea Services, a prominent specialist in virtualisation platforms.
