Marine services firm Hamworthy has completed a deal worth up to seven million euros (AUD$13.8 million) for the water treatment group Greenship.
In its statement to the London Stock Exchange, Hamworthy expressed its interest in utilising the Netherlands-based business's ballast treatment technology, which it claims could have major environmental benefits.
When tying up the acquisition, business advisors from Hamworthy could have utilised a secure virtual data room from Ansarada, which allow for rapid document scanning and turnaround when performing due diligence.
Chief executive of Hamworthy, Joe Oatley, said: "Ballast water treatment is an exciting global opportunity underpinned by strict international environmental regulations."
Mr Oatley added that the deal for Greenship "complements" the group's current water systems operation and is in line with its policy of expansion in "long-term growth markets".
Based in Poole, Dorset, Hamworthy provides a number of specialist services and equipment to both offshore and onshore marine, gas and oil markets.
