Japanese brewing titan Asahi is set to complete an AUD$1.2 billion deal for Cadbury's Schweppe's Australia.

The agreement had looked to be in jeopardy after it emerged the Coca-Cola Company was considering a counter-offer, but this has now fizzled out.

Due to the geographical distances between business advisors, both parties could possibly benefit from using a secure virtual data room for exchanging accounts in an encrypted environment allowing restrictions on file copying, printing and saving.

Chief executive of Cadbury, Todd Stitzer, said when the deal was first announced: "The successful sale of Schweppes Australia will complete Cadbury's divestment of its beverage operations.

"As a result, Cadbury will focus solely on its growing chocolate, gum and candy portfolio in line with the Vision Into Action strategy."

Meanwhile, emergency response firm Ferno Australia has completed a deal to purchase the Australian-focused assets of Weinmann, a large medical technology organisation.ADNFCR-1221-ID-19074241-ADNFCR
