Mining giant Newcrest is currently looking at acquisition opportunities, a report in the has Australian stated.
The gold miner - which has interests in Australia and Indonesia - is said to be keen on looking at a number of potential agreements over the next 12 months.
When performing due diligence before the purchase of assets, advisors at Newcrest could potentially benefit from utilising an Ansarada secure virtual data room, which comply with all government regulations regarding mergers and acquisitions.
According to the newspaper, chief executive of Newcrest, Ian Smith, told the Australian Institute of Company Directors: "We have two teams looking at possible merger and acquisition opportunities around the world.
"The first time is looking at early entry, scouring the world to see if there are any companies that find themselves in a distressed position."
He added that the second team was looking at "advanced opportunities", but that the company would only move for "particularly exciting" deals.
Newcrest last month posted its half-yearly results, which showed the miner's underlying profit was up 16 per cent to more than AUD$241 million.
