78% now see risk-sharing as key to allocation, but contracts alone won't deliver it

Financial risk-sharing incentives (78%) and advanced risk analysis tools (77%) have overtaken comprehensive insurance as the most-cited keys to effective risk allocation in transport infrastructure. That finding comes from a survey of 150 senior executives by Ansarada and Infralogic. Practitioners warn that the shift only pays off when behaviour, evidence and governance keep pace with the contract.

Roads are back on top for 70% of transport executives, but the projects look different

70% of senior transport infrastructure executives expect roads to be among the top two sectors for growth in value invested over the next two years, up from 51% a year ago. The capital is real. But infrastructure leaders expect more of it to go into upgrading and adapting existing networks than into greenfield mega-roads, and that changes where procurement risk sits.

Australia’s transport pipeline is changing. Procurement needs to adapt

Just 9% of the 150 global senior transport executives surveyed in Ansarada Procure’s 2027 Transport Infrastructure Outlook Report expect Australia and New Zealand to see the largest growth in infrastructure projects over the next two years. Findings in the report put that down to the end of a build cycle in Victoria and New South Wales, not a lack of activity.
