SkyBus, the bus service that transport more than 2.2 million passengers annually between Melbourne’s airport and the city’s down town district, can ill afford a disruption to its service, especially in the midst of a M&A transaction.

When Skybus owner and managing director Simon Cowen decided to sell the company, he asked Melbourne’s finance community what data room they would recommend on a M&A deal.

“We received a favorable recommendation of the Ansarada M&A data room from our brokers Heritage Corp, which specializes in advisory services to the bus industry,” says Mr Cowen.

“We were told the Ansarada data room was easy to use and if we were in the business of getting something done then Ansarada was the place to get an M&A transaction done,” he says.

Skybus, started in 1978, was sold to a consortium of investors including Sydney-based private equity firm Catalyst and Canadian pension fund OP Trust.

“The data room charges were very good value for money as we thought of it as a fair sized deal,” says Mr Cowen.

“We really liked the fact the Ansarada M&A data room is backed up by local, friendly support. Having that kind of customer support while you are involved in a transaction is invaluable as it enables people to get on with the business of M&A,” he says.

“I would certainly come back and use Ansarada’s data rooms again,” adds Mr Cowen. “Not only would I use the Ansarada data room again but all of my team involved in the deal would too.”
